Robert B. and Dorothy L. Crotty Veterans Scholarship

The video above is of Cmdr. Crotty recorded at the Saturday, November 23, 2019, football game vs. Nebraska as part of Veterans Recognition Day. He was honored to dedicate the stadium’s POW*MIA seat. The unoccupied seat is dedicated to the memory of the more than 92,000 American soldiers unaccounted for since World War I.

About Robert and Dorothy Crotty

This scholarship is in recognition of the World War II and Korean War naval service of Cdr. Robert B. Crotty, USN Ret., and the civilian wartime service of Dorothy L. Crotty. Through this endowment the Crotty family’s aspiration is to support University of Maryland veteran students and their families and to contribute to their transition to civilian life and careers in appreciation for their sacrifice and service to safeguard our country.

About The Fund

The Robert B. And Dorothy L. Crotty Veterans Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2018 in order to provide critical support to University of Maryland students who are veterans, active duty service members or reservists of the U.S. Armed Forces with a preference for students that exhibit positive career ambitions, or display leadership and service to others in the community, or a combination of both.
